Finally not falling over dead. Took a week to recover. I'm serious, I was falling asleep every damn time I stopped moving. I mean it's not really surprising given that I had maybe 3 hrs sleep for all of the con and about the same the week before the con while trying to work both before and after the con.

Was it worth it? I don't know... hopefully.

I can't say it all went that great though. I mean I only sold 8 doujin which means I have basically recovered the cost of printing it but not yet of the shipping when it's done and I send copies to the people who won contests (which I'll get to the bookmark thing in a minute) and send Lei-sam her 2 copies and well I kept a copy for nat and I each, Lei-sam and I make $5 bucks. haha at least we get our copies and the contest copies paid for. Which that's mostly what I wanted anyway.

We left town on wednesday and drove to my mom's so we could use my little sister's car for driving to Denver. Which my little sister was very put out about. My god she has to live without her car for a little while... oh my god the world will end. She did let us use it. Because my mom made her and well because it's me and as much as she might sulk about it, I'm her favorite sister so... I was up until 6 am, thanks to nerves and stress and trying to get last minute stuff done (which I probably shouldn't have bothered with to be honest). I got a couple hours of sleep and then we left again.

Got to denver early but had to wait for Kara and Hidaka and still would have been okay if not for ungodly traffic. So we get to the airport and ended up missing our flight which meant we had to get a hotel room.

So we went and found one then went to walmart (because our luggage made the flight we just didn't) so had to get Hidaka and Kara pajamas. She took Foooooorever! to find a pair. I'm mean and violent and hit her in her shoulder a couple times and told her to just pick something. (This is my way of being friendly... and plus she's soo cute when she pouts and does the whimper and the puppy eyes... it was funny!) And then she unsnapped my bra in the middle of freaking walmart... so I of course had to hit her again.

Then we got back to the hotel and goofed around and Hidaka wanted to draw so we went out to the car... or well to find the car and got lost in the parkinglot... no I'm not kidding. I mean like we couldn't find the car and I walked up to a KIA and was like uh... where's the keyhole... I thought it was on back here and Hidaka was like "that's not it, doesn't have kansas plates" so we wondered around in another circle looking for kansas plates and found it finally. Then we dug around in the trunk and the front of the car and found 3 pencils. (the front desk only had pens and oddly enough lead for mechanical pencils which we found in the car).

Then the next morning I tried to start the place on fire by using the microwave and a cinnamon roll... hehe yeah me + morning = can't cook... evidently.

Well we got tot he airport with lots of time to spare... but the first flight was full so we had to take the second one. *pouts*

So we get Baltimore and Demona was calling constantly trying to figure out if we made it and then we tried to take the shuttle but it wasn't coming so Scott was like "come on let's just take the light rail." I finally gave in and we did... (For anyone going to baltimore, take the lightrail... seriously it's cheap and goes to the convention center and stuff so it's worth it.)

We get there and have to stand in line for like ever and then walk up and down a gazillion stairs trying to find the artist room which by the way is tucked way the fuck out of the way and is hard to find. I don't like Otakon's placement of AA or the dealer's room they could have at least had them both together. *pouts* so that sucked.

Then we get a table where they put all the really amazing artist... which totally sucked in that we got overlooked a lot. We also weren't organized at all and we should have gotten 2 tables and not just one and we should have had vertical stuff like banners or something... So well we learned a lot but it didn't go so well on the sales.

Well so we have a lot of prints to sell so going to have a huge sale basically in hopes of recovering the cost. So if there's something you want a print of or bookmarks of let me know I just might have it. *headdesk* You can get it extra extra cheap right now too. I'll probably post a sale journal tomorrow.

So I got to go to ONE panel (how not to write a lemon) which was very funny and Hidaka and I got shushed. *looks a little sheepish* I had one panel I wanted to go to but I couldn't remember for sure which it was... I think I missed it on Friday though. I wanted to go to it because Onlineookamikasumi worked on it with somebody I know from LJ.

Oh there was this guy there in a belly dancer outfit and OMG he looked yummy! and shiny very shiny! ^.^ I totally wanted to molest him but I was good. (firt for everything...)

There wasn't a lot of Naruto cosplayers there... But hammyclammy dressed up as Iruka and got her friend to dress as Kakashi and came to visit me!!! ^.^ And then I totally hogged her attention for like 10 minutes while her friends stood there with that "can we go now" look on their faces. ^///^

Had several people come over and fangirl me... which was really really cool! Made me feel extra super special! ^.^ Thank you to those who did. I love attention!

And I had this serious moment of freaking out because Scott accidentally sold MY copy of Mission Iruka which was special cuz it was the absolute first copy ever printed. (Lei-sam gets the first spanish copy) And then Sunday the girl who he sold it to by accident shows up because she wanted me to sign it for her and I was like so ecstatic I totally loaded her down with posters and bookmarks. I was sooo relieved because it means soooo much to me. I was like so loopy over it I had to resist glomping her and looking like a complete idiot. ^///^ I'm sure I did anyway or well at least a spaz.

Oh and then when Hidaka and I went to get dinner before the panel we got er... not lost so much as we started to head into the bad part of town and when we stopped at the hotel on the end of a stret the door person pointed us at this bar thingie for food. I think he may have been trying to turn us around though cuz we started to walk back and these firemen asked us where we were from and we both went "from the con..." and pointed to the convention center... they were like "No... /where/ are you /from/?" which was like "Oh... kansas and colorado" and then they got this knowing look on their face like "ah tourist..." ^///^ and told us that we shouldn't go that way cuz it's got problems after midnight and we should stay away from the bar for the same reason... and so then we talked to them for a bit but I can't remember exactly what about... con stuff I think... sleep deprivation is BAD!

We had this one guy who bought copies of all of the ShikaKiba stuff! *squeals* that was awesome! He was very flamboyant but very nice.

And Demona and Hidaka both got commissions which was cool. I wish they'd gotten more but if they'd gotten more they'd have had less time to spend on the con itself so all things work out I guess.

It was neat to get to meet everyone and put a face to a name even though... things didn't go quite as well as I'd planned/hoped/thought/whatever. I wish I'd had more time to spend there or that we'd just gone and not bothered with a table. This is probably the biggest downer of the whole con for me.

Well I didn't get to see the voice actress I was soooooo wanting to meet... *pouts* the one thing I truly really wanted to do with the con and well I couldn't because we had to leave and catch our flight. *whine* So well no I didn't get my complete fangirl idiot moment which I'm sure is what would have happened since I DID meet Jennie Breeden and I did freeze up and want to run away and hide. Yeah... I know me? pfft yes... I felt like an idiot and Scott was making fun of me and so it made it worse.

So well we made our flight back but we were all so damn exhausted and I didn't want to go home anyway so we got a hotel and stayed the night and left in the morning. Me and Hidaka were teasing Kara the whole con about her being a 'minor character' and being over looked and unimportant (cuz she dressed as Tenten) and then at the hotel she bit Hidaka and we decided that "oh no she might have infected you with her minor character rabies!" *giggles* Love Kara she took it in good humor even though I totally hogged Hidaka. ^.^ Scott had fun messing with her too. Oh and her laptop was really fucked up while we were there... which sucked but Scott and I have a solution - gonna give her Scott's old mac which is a beast but well it does work. That's the nice thing abotu having a computer geek for a hubby lots of extra stuff laying around.


Then we drove all the way back in one day and only had like 30 minutes to spend with my baby girl and little sister and my mom and what not. But well I see them way more so that wasn't a big deal. I got Anna cat ears though and my mom and everyone was like "ugh we've been trying to break her of the meowing" and I was like "She can meow if she wants to." *stern mommy face*

Then well we get all the way home and the doors are LOCKED. I never lock my doors... was going to lock the front one since we can just get in through the garage where as no one else could unless they expend serious effort and then it'd be easier to just break a window. So then we drove all the way back into town to get the key from my best friend and then I had scott go ahead to work and then Iris' dad drove me out and I got the stuff and he dropped it off for scott... it was crazy but it worked out.

God I could go on forever about the con. I had fun even if I was totally exhausted. I have been crashing off and on all week... which sucks when I'm trying to work but now I'm not exhaused so I posted... finally. I'm just stressed and have a headache at this point.

So well in the end was it worth it... I don't know... I'd like to say yes but due to some stuff I'm really not sure. I won't do Otakon ever again and I doubt I'll fly to a con ever again.

Oh and I didn't sell a single pirates pic or a single NH wedding pic... *frowns* not even a bookmark. Which I was really proud of those so that sucked.
